Mission and Program Creation
The mission of the ACVC is to implement and maintain a successful and robust volleyball program for all youth athletes in Amador County and surrounding communities, while fostering positive sportsmanship and life skills, providing the knowledge, progression and application methods of sport fundamentals, and creating an opportunity for participants to play at a competitive level in addition to school sponsored programs.
The Amador County Volleyball Club was created in March of 2023 to provide the youth of Amador County the opportunity to participate in the sport of Volleyball, outside of school-sanctioned seasons. We have noticed a great deal of increasing interest in the sport, for both girls and boys, yet the opportunity for the youth of our county remains extremely limited.
It is the intention of the ACVC to start gradually, with a small number of teams, and grow the program into a multi-level organization, participating in competitive tournaments, further enabling our county to be a strong player in the sport during school program competition. The Amador County Volleyball Club will provide youth athletes with the opportunity to learn and develop the skills required to participate in the sport of Volleyball through weekly practice sessions. Coaches will provide training and instruction during these practices, allowing the youth athletes to compete in at least one tournament monthly, more often multiple tournaments per month, throughout the State of California and neighboring states. Physical conditioning, personal responsibility/accountability, team building dynamics, dietary education, effective communication and positive sportsmanship are also lessons in which the coaches will advise the youth athletes. Practices will take place 2-3 days a week, for approximately 2 hours per practice, at locations to be determined on an annual basis.
